Guess what day it is????

Guess what day it is? Guess what day it is????
No, it's not hump day,lol...

It's the first day of my birthday week!!!!!!!

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

I used to really hate my birthday.
Not because I am getting older, but because I really
don't like to be the center of attention.
I hated that day for years!!!
Until...... My friend Laura showed me how to fix it.
Give.
That's it.
Give.

I LOVED it :)

So, on the week of my birthday, I do as many
random acts of kindness (RAK) as possible.
Best. Birthdays. Ever.

Once again this year, I am inviting you to join in :)
Please, do one RAK this week, and report back by commenting on this post.
Nothing would make me happier than to share the joy of doing
something nice for someone else!

Those who report back today (Monday) and leave a comment, will be entered in the following random
drawing.

(And P.S. I am skinny too :) )

The winner will be announced on Tuesday!!!!

Now my first RAK.... is for you!!!!
Free Graphics!!!!

I can't wait to hear from you!!!

I found a set of keys at an outdoor mall & searched to find a security guard to give them to. She used her radio to contact the other security guards so they can hopefully network together and find the owner of the missing keys. One guard stayed in the area where the keys were found just in case the owner of the keys came back there to look for his/her keys.

A family of 4 was moving back to their home country, and we helped throw a picnic in the park farewell get-together for them since no one organized a farewell party for this family. My husband and I started our day early to cook (think curry, spareribs, sushi!) to surprise this family with wonderful food (and company, of course!).

I'm going to copy Jennifer's idea and donate to a donors choose project for a brand new teacher at my school. Happy birthday week to you, my friend!!

A 90 year old friend at my church is moving out of town on Friday. She wants to live closer to her daughters. We invited her to have dinner With us last night. 1. We really like This friend. 2. Who wants to eat alone all the time? 3. We will miss her. 4. She went to high school with my dad in a town that is 2 and a half hours away from here. (Small world!) We also invited my son's family so there were plenty of giggles from the kids!
We had so much fun laughing and sharing stories. We should reach out to single people more often. Plus she was able to take home some leftovers to eat later this week.

This week is when my kids teachers are allowed back into their classroom. I will be taking them something for lunch each day this week.
We started doing this with my son's teachers 5 years ago and now the teachers know the expect it if one of my kids ends up in their class list.

Happy Birthday, Nikki! This week my sister ( who is also a teacher) and I have been collecting school supplies and have been donating them to areas in need. The need hit home this year when for the first time, we had to buy school supplies for my son. He starts preschool this week and while it was no problem to buy his supplies, the total $ amount it all came to was astonishing. How could all parents afford to provide their children with the new supplies they need for school? The reality is, a lot of parents can't. So, that's when we decided to do something. As teachers, we do a lot for our students, but there are so many other kids out there who just want that brand new set of crayolas and that new notebook. This is a cause that is just hitting close to my heart...

While I finish school, I work at a criminal background checking agency. It is currently our peak season. If we have any emails in our inboxes on Friday afternoon, we have to come in on Sunday. I've been going through everyone's inboxes keeping them clear in effort to give my team a 3 day weekend.

I am going to go clean my mom and dad's house for them today while they are at work. My sweet daughter is going to "help" me, haha! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

This is a lovely idea!!

I signed up to an elderly persons charity, who provide tea parties every sunday for lonely older people who don't have any families - except they don't have enough volunteers in my local area to run the project here.. so I'm currently trying to find enough people to set up a local group - so far we're at 6 volunteers!!

We went to story hour at the library and the playdough was all dry and un playdough-y. So we made some and took it to the children's librarian. My 3 year old was so pumped!!

BTW this giving on your birthday is a brilliant idea. Most of my family forgot my last birthday and I tried not to be mopey about it, but I wish that I had thought of going out to do something for someone else. That would have totally made my day! Thank you!!

There lives an elderly couple across the street from us so we mow the ditch line where the mailboxes are located. We have also taken their mail to them, moved their trash container back to the house, and other things that we see that might help them before they ask. The wife's dementia is getting worse. His health is not in the best shape either and he has trouble walking but he insists on mowing his grass. He is just afraid of the mower tipping on that ditch line otherwise he would probably mow it. Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday week to you! Have an amazing week!
As for my RAK, yesterday, I donated 4 garbage bags full of children's and ladies clothing, along with 2 boxes of books and a box full of educational game boards to charity. Today, I went to McDonalds for an iced coffee for myself. I did the drive-thru. I, then, paid for the car behind me. The cashier was amazed at my RAK because I had no idea who I was paying for; they were total strangers.

Thank you for the "queen" She's precious! This is also the start of my birthday week (mine is on Monday, 9/1) I get discouraged on mine because family likes to travel and as a kid many of my friends were gone that weekend so birthday parties didn't happen often. And I love a good party!!! I like your idea of giving, so I'm starting off by making a card for my niece to give to one of her friends. I usually sell my cards, but instead, this week, I'm going to give them away! Thanks for the idea! Have a wonderful birthday! ~H

Happy Birthday to you! Today I taught the two nice boys in front of me how to use the ATM. I then taught them two new words, "Insufficient Funds" and that they needed to go inside and the nice ladies called "Tellers" would help take care of them! :)In the past I might have just walked down two stores to the Winn Dixie and used my ATM there 'cause they were taking soooo long, but I thought of you and I was kind and patient! :)

Happy Birthday!
I ordered extra copies of my some scrapbook layouts just because I know when my friend in England gets them she will be so happy. She lost her dad when she was 19 and just lost her mom last year and the world is still getting my friend down so I took some of her treasured photos and made some digital scrapbook layouts then I ordered the prints in the largest size the printer had. Just wish I could be there to see the smile on her face when she gets this package.

I made a list of things my hubby needs and bought him the first thing on the list, because HE is a ROCKSTAR and the best man I have ever met!

Then to top it all off we took my neighbours little girl to the ER because they don't have a car! :) 3 hours later all is well and we are all back home! Just another day in the Bristow house x

Before my day ends I would like to tell YOU that YOU are amazing! YOU are so talented and bring so much happiness into the lives of those you come in contact with! The world was blessed the day you were born and has been blessed each day since! The world needs YOU!! The world needs the happiness's, inspiration and encouragement YOU bring into the world! I know that you do not like to be in the lime light but people who shine on the inside can't help but let some of that light escape! YOU don't need a spotlight! YOU shine bright enough all on YOUR OWN! I'm sure I can happily speak for others when I say.... THANK YOU!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!! :)

Sometimes it the smallest thing that can make a huge difference. As I was trying hard to complete a task in my classroom and so thankful that I had "just enough" to complete the task a new coworker came in to borrow the very supply I was using leaving me one short. Without hesitating I gave her what she needed more than I did. God will provide me more...watch and see!!

This is my birthday week too! :) Mine is on Wednesday. Happy Birthday! I decided to surprise my parents and scrub down their kitchen floors, cabinets, and counters so that they would have a shiny kitchen when they returned from a short trip to visit out-of-state family. I really needed to spend the time cleaning my own house, but when you give away what you need for yourself, you are usually blessed even more. :)

While putting my groceries in my car, I noticed there was a cart with no one around it that had a 12 pack of canned dog food on the bottom rack still. I went to the cart, grabbed the dog food and turned it in to the customer service desk. Hopefully someone realizes they are missing their dog food soon or else they are going to have an angry pup later! Happy Birthday!!

I love your idea of doing a RAK on your birthday! I hate being the center of attention, too. My RAK was to get my friend across the hall some Mickey Mouse straws while I was at the Dollar Tree. She loves Mickey and she is going to give them to her students on their birthdays.

Happy Birthday. Great idea!

Today school was canceled for our students in Napa due to the earthquake but our staff came in. All of us experienced the earthquake but many had most of their belongings thrown to the floor. I brought in some snacks to share as my RAK inspired by you this morning. I also we to each classroom to see who needed helping picking up what the earthquake knocked around.
