Guess what day it is? Guess what day it is????
No, it's not hump day,lol...
No, it's not hump day,lol...
It's the first day of my birthday week!!!!!!!
WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!
I used to really hate my birthday.
Not because I am getting older, but because I really
don't like to be the center of attention.
I hated that day for years!!!
Until...... My friend Laura showed me how to fix it.
Give.
That's it.
Give.
I LOVED it :)
So, on the week of my birthday, I do as many
random acts of kindness (RAK) as possible.
Best. Birthdays. Ever.
Once again this year, I am inviting you to join in :)
Please, do one RAK this week, and report back by commenting on this post.
Nothing would make me happier than to share the joy of doing
something nice for someone else!
Those who report back today (Monday) and leave a comment, will be entered in the following random
drawing.
(And P.S. I am skinny too :) )
The winner will be announced on Tuesday!!!!
Now my first RAK.... is for you!!!!
Free Graphics!!!!
I can't wait to hear from you!!!

I found a set of keys at an outdoor mall & searched to find a security guard to give them to. She used her radio to contact the other security guards so they can hopefully network together and find the owner of the missing keys. One guard stayed in the area where the keys were found just in case the owner of the keys came back there to look for his/her keys.
A family of 4 was moving back to their home country, and we helped throw a picnic in the park farewell get-together for them since no one organized a farewell party for this family. My husband and I started our day early to cook (think curry, spareribs, sushi!) to surprise this family with wonderful food (and company, of course!).
I'm going to copy Jennifer's idea and donate to a donors choose project for a brand new teacher at my school. Happy birthday week to you, my friend!!
good enough teacher
You know you are my favourite artist and i loved your sense of humour :) happy birthday mrs.creativity :D
Happy Birthday Week! It is my birthday week as well! I am starting back to school with treats for my teammates and my kiddos of course too! I am going to try to follow your lead and complete ARK each day!

I am giving away an item from my store on Instagram (@sarabeth781), to enter they have to post about how they teach their students to spread kindness.

Happy Birthday week! I love the idea of taking treats to our area meeting tomorrow night! We had a long meeting tonight and I know that everyone will love a little something sweet at the end of the day!
Have a wonderful week Nikki!

Happy Birthday Week to you! I hope your week is full of fun and surprises! On Friday, I packed up a bunch of extra school supplies, and today, I'm giving them away! Share the wealth!
Happy Birthday week! I sent in treats to my kids teachers today...just because!
Happy Birthday week Nikki! You know, I am visiting my sweet Victoria who is in hospital with leucchemia every week and share some God's lessons using your Bible heroes clipart. She loves Esther 'cause she is a princess. Enjoy your week!
I donated to Donors Chose. I love that the site provides teachers and students with what they need. Happiest of birthdays.
A 90 year old friend at my church is moving out of town on Friday. She wants to live closer to her daughters. We invited her to have dinner With us last night. 1. We really like This friend. 2. Who wants to eat alone all the time? 3. We will miss her. 4. She went to high school with my dad in a town that is 2 and a half hours away from here. (Small world!) We also invited my son's family so there were plenty of giggles from the kids!
We had so much fun laughing and sharing stories. We should reach out to single people more often. Plus she was able to take home some leftovers to eat later this week.

P.S. Thank YOU for the free cuties!
P.P.S.S. Happy happy birthday my friend!
This week is when my kids teachers are allowed back into their classroom. I will be taking them something for lunch each day this week.
We started doing this with my son's teachers 5 years ago and now the teachers know the expect it if one of my kids ends up in their class list.
I love this princess birthday clip art! Adorable!!! I'm going to donate to a Donor's Choose project! Thanks so much for doing RAK. It's so great to see what everyone else is doing!
A Teaspoon of Teaching
Happy Birthday, Nikki! This week my sister ( who is also a teacher) and I have been collecting school supplies and have been donating them to areas in need. The need hit home this year when for the first time, we had to buy school supplies for my son. He starts preschool this week and while it was no problem to buy his supplies, the total $ amount it all came to was astonishing. How could all parents afford to provide their children with the new supplies they need for school? The reality is, a lot of parents can't. So, that's when we decided to do something. As teachers, we do a lot for our students, but there are so many other kids out there who just want that brand new set of crayolas and that new notebook. This is a cause that is just hitting close to my heart...
I am going to go clean my mom and dad's house for them today while they are at work. My sweet daughter is going to "help" me, haha! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
This is a lovely idea!!
I signed up to an elderly persons charity, who provide tea parties every sunday for lonely older people who don't have any families - except they don't have enough volunteers in my local area to run the project here.. so I'm currently trying to find enough people to set up a local group - so far we're at 6 volunteers!!

We went to story hour at the library and the playdough was all dry and un playdough-y. So we made some and took it to the children's librarian. My 3 year old was so pumped!!
BTW this giving on your birthday is a brilliant idea. Most of my family forgot my last birthday and I tried not to be mopey about it, but I wish that I had thought of going out to do something for someone else. That would have totally made my day! Thank you!!

FCS and Then Some
Since I am not working at a regular job now, I volunteered to help with crafts on the 5th floor of the hospital where I use to work. It is like a nursing home. I love helping with the seniors. Some day, I may be in their place.
What an awesome birthday idea! Both of my daughters are teachers too. As a suprise, I did the laundry for one and made dinner for the other since it is their first day back. I also made little goodie bags for their team members to help survive the week!
I donated the final amount needed to a Donor's Choose project so this awesome teacher could get the Bill & Melinda Gates match. Happy Birthday!!!

I taught my daughter how to hold the doors for people at the post office who carry large boxes! -Jenn
Happy Birthday week!! I love the idea of giving to others on your birthday. Thank you for the cute image. Today I'm sending cards to a couple of friends who have been going through a rough time lately to try to cheer them up a little.
There lives an elderly couple across the street from us so we mow the ditch line where the mailboxes are located. We have also taken their mail to them, moved their trash container back to the house, and other things that we see that might help them before they ask. The wife's dementia is getting worse. His health is not in the best shape either and he has trouble walking but he insists on mowing his grass. He is just afraid of the mower tipping on that ditch line otherwise he would probably mow it. Happy Birthday!!
Happy birthday!!! I'm busy packing for Uganda today. We are bringing tons of adoption bracelets, necklaces we made, and adoption tshirts with your fabulous clip art! All gifts for the volunteers at the orphanage. :)
My husband and I scooped up an injured coopers hawk during a 19 mile bike ride with the kids and drove it to an emergency vet clinic that accepts raptors! -gerdy
Happy birthday! I am going to bake something for my teammates, as we are off to a bit of a rough start with this year's changes to our schedule.
Happy Birthday week to you! Have an amazing week!
As for my RAK, yesterday, I donated 4 garbage bags full of children's and ladies clothing, along with 2 boxes of books and a box full of educational game boards to charity. Today, I went to McDonalds for an iced coffee for myself. I did the drive-thru. I, then, paid for the car behind me. The cashier was amazed at my RAK because I had no idea who I was paying for; they were total strangers.

Thank you for the "queen" She's precious! This is also the start of my birthday week (mine is on Monday, 9/1) I get discouraged on mine because family likes to travel and as a kid many of my friends were gone that weekend so birthday parties didn't happen often. And I love a good party!!! I like your idea of giving, so I'm starting off by making a card for my niece to give to one of her friends. I usually sell my cards, but instead, this week, I'm going to give them away! Thanks for the idea! Have a wonderful birthday! ~H
Happy Birthday to you! Today I taught the two nice boys in front of me how to use the ATM. I then taught them two new words, "Insufficient Funds" and that they needed to go inside and the nice ladies called "Tellers" would help take care of them! :)In the past I might have just walked down two stores to the Winn Dixie and used my ATM there 'cause they were taking soooo long, but I thought of you and I was kind and patient! :)

Happy Birthday!
I ordered extra copies of my some scrapbook layouts just because I know when my friend in England gets them she will be so happy. She lost her dad when she was 19 and just lost her mom last year and the world is still getting my friend down so I took some of her treasured photos and made some digital scrapbook layouts then I ordered the prints in the largest size the printer had. Just wish I could be there to see the smile on her face when she gets this package.
Today I offered to help another teacher with her xeroxing. Not a task I enjoy, but one that I know was appreciated by my friend who had less time today than I did :)

I paid for the car behind me in the drive through at Dunkin Donuts.
I was at a local store and a small girl entered to ask for some rainbow looms bracelets that had caught her eyes! But she didn't have enough money to buy one, so I let her pick her favorite and I paid for it. Watching her beautiful smile was priceless!!!
Happy birthday dear Nikki, wishing you the best today and always!!!
Bought McDonald's sweet teas for the office staff! Yum!
Hi!
I bought supplies for many students at my school (not just my class) because every student deserves the supplies they need to be successful!
I am also going to bring coffee and treats to my team later this week! Wahoo!
Happy Birthday lady! I hope you have a magical day!
Happy Birthday! Hope you are totally blessed this week. For my RAK, I made customized name activities (a product in my TpT store) for my son's whole preschool class for free. They loved it!

Today posted tweets all day telling all my 700+ followers that they are loved! Thought of! Appreciated and a gift from God!! Followed by feeding the Missionaries dinner and taking them home just for a treat!
I made a list of things my hubby needs and bought him the first thing on the list, because HE is a ROCKSTAR and the best man I have ever met!
Then to top it all off we took my neighbours little girl to the ER because they don't have a car! :) 3 hours later all is well and we are all back home! Just another day in the Bristow house x
Before my day ends I would like to tell YOU that YOU are amazing! YOU are so talented and bring so much happiness into the lives of those you come in contact with! The world was blessed the day you were born and has been blessed each day since! The world needs YOU!! The world needs the happiness's, inspiration and encouragement YOU bring into the world! I know that you do not like to be in the lime light but people who shine on the inside can't help but let some of that light escape! YOU don't need a spotlight! YOU shine bright enough all on YOUR OWN! I'm sure I can happily speak for others when I say.... THANK YOU!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!! :)
Paid for the meal behind me at Mc Donald's first day of school!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Sometimes it the smallest thing that can make a huge difference. As I was trying hard to complete a task in my classroom and so thankful that I had "just enough" to complete the task a new coworker came in to borrow the very supply I was using leaving me one short. Without hesitating I gave her what she needed more than I did. God will provide me more...watch and see!!
I helped and offered other members on my grade level team to make a Parthenon for their door for their classrooms & students, while we are studying Ancient Greece for the next two-threes weeks!
This is my birthday week too! :) Mine is on Wednesday. Happy Birthday! I decided to surprise my parents and scrub down their kitchen floors, cabinets, and counters so that they would have a shiny kitchen when they returned from a short trip to visit out-of-state family. I really needed to spend the time cleaning my own house, but when you give away what you need for yourself, you are usually blessed even more. :)
I donated $10 to 10 different Donors Choose projects yesterday.
Nikki, Thank you for the images. Happy birthday week! Have fun! Edwina Brown
I made sweet treats for my team to help them start the new school year right. Everyone likes a little sweet love, right?
While putting my groceries in my car, I noticed there was a cart with no one around it that had a 12 pack of canned dog food on the bottom rack still. I went to the cart, grabbed the dog food and turned it in to the customer service desk. Hopefully someone realizes they are missing their dog food soon or else they are going to have an angry pup later! Happy Birthday!!
My RAK for today was to create custom focus board labels for my team. Of course part of that was me procrastinating getting my classroom done!! Happy birthday!!
I have a great dessert ready to share with my teacher buddies tomorrow. They don't know it is coming.
Today was our first day back. I bought treats for my team.

I stayed late to tape a fellow teacher's name tags on her cubbies so she could go home to her 1 month old baby.
I love your idea of doing a RAK on your birthday! I hate being the center of attention, too. My RAK was to get my friend across the hall some Mickey Mouse straws while I was at the Dollar Tree. She loves Mickey and she is going to give them to her students on their birthdays.

A Rainbow of Teaching
Happy Birthday you wonderful lady, I am so glad that you love doing this, Laura is a great friend for giving you the idea!!! I have been cleaning my daughters room when she goes to school (since you can't see the floor) and hopefully she wont notice the things that end up disappearing while she is gone.
I laminated a pile for another teacher and delivered it to her room. I used your build a teacher to make a mini version of my teammates. The perfect back to class gift.
Planning to bring some treats for the crossing guards at our school tomorrow. :)
Happy birthday to my favorite, most talented artist!! I donated tons of supplies to a church that donates them to kiddos who can't afford them. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy those new supplies and be excited for school!!
Happy Birthday. Great idea!
Today school was canceled for our students in Napa due to the earthquake but our staff came in. All of us experienced the earthquake but many had most of their belongings thrown to the floor. I brought in some snacks to share as my RAK inspired by you this morning. I also we to each classroom to see who needed helping picking up what the earthquake knocked around.

I went around my neighborhood and picked up trash/litter :)
I love the idea of giving to others on your birthday. I usually am not thrilled about my own birthday because like you mentioned feeling, I too do not like to be the center of attention. This year I can not wait to celebrate my birthday with RAK and by celebrating others. Thanks for the great idea!
Happy Birthday!!!
Happy, Happy Birthday! I love to celebrate my birthday "month"! :) What a splendid way to spend it by doing nice things for others. I love it!
For the past couple days I did two photo shoots for my friends. They have seniors in high school. There is nothing like the feeling for doing something nice for someone. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you! And a most happy birthday to you! I LOVE Donor's Choose, have been both a recipient and a donor. Glad we can support them!
Happy Birthday!! I know I am late, but just wanted to tell you I did my partner teachers pick up duty today! And boy is it got in Texas!!!
What a lovely idea! Congrats on your 28th birthday! ;)
