My mother was a very talented seamstress and quilter. Some of my most prized posessions are the quilts that she made. Her stitches are perfect.... she told me mine look like a big running stitch...lol. When I heard this quote, it remined me instantly of her.
Aww, May God bless her. Mothers are angels. Your mum looks so kind. Does she still make quilts ?

ReplyDeleteYou must cherish her quilts and what an awesome gift to pass on to future generations...Dee
ReplyDeleteAren't the stitches supposed to look like a running stitch. I guess that I didn't learn very well.
ReplyDeleteWish my mother-in-law were still alive... This sentiment fits her perfectly! I miss her after 11 years.
ReplyDelete:) Michleene, You never saw Aunt Pat quilt..lol. She did it absolutely perfectly, and I fell way short of that. Thanks Dee and Sue, I miss her alot, but it's comforting to have the quilts:)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest daughter is the only one of my three girls who loves to quilt....I taught her, but she is waaaay better than me now....I'm gonna help her 4 babies make cards for her with this cutie sentiment...perfect!

ReplyDeleteSo lucky for you to have such a sweet mother! The quilts she made may always remind you of the loving comfort of a mother. Thanks too for a lovely artwork!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great keepsake you've got of her! I love the photos and story behind your digital image.
ReplyDeleteHow precious. My grandmother was like your mother she could quilt and make you think she used a machine. I miss her. I love the pic of your mom on the turkey(?). lol Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteP.S. As a Literature major and writer, I love to hear the stories. :-D
lol, She is sitting on a turkey. She grew up on a turkey/potato farm in Idaho...l
