Bringing people together :)

I have a confession.... well not really a confession, 'cause I'm not in trouble.
I have been thinking alot lately about some of you. Each (knowingly or not) has left a permanent footprint in my life. Names don't need mention, but my thoughts do.
Cancer sucks.
Two small words that need not further explanation.
I saw a commercial today that said 1 in 3 women will have cancer in their lifetime.
I can count 3 of my friends without even thinking hard, that I have had the
blessing of "meeting" through this lovely blog of mine, that have battled, or are battling cancer.
Each has their own personal story of their trek through cancer,
yet each has a connection to the other through their experience.

I would like to introduce you to my friend Etta May. She is one of the strongest, and
most deeply rooted people I know. My mother would have said she has "an old soul",
wise beyond this life in ways that I only hope some day to be. She has alot of wisdom and humor to share. If you have a minute, stop in and share in this journey she's preparing to take.

My love and hope is with you all.

You are right, cancer sucks. Went over to Etta May's blog. I blame Adam for all the bad stuff. ;)

thank you so much for sharing her link!
cancer is just a season in my life - it is NOT my life and I will NOT be defined by it. please don't look at me and see only my cancer. I am so much more than that. yep, it sucks, but there are still so very many blessings to behold each and every day! :)

Jennifer stated it well. Cancer is not my life, it does not define me, it is not who I am. It was a season of my life and just as any other season I have passed through it has made me a stronger, better person. There were lessons learned, blessings received, and battles won. Not all are as lucky as I have been. I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Nikki - it means a lot that you took the time to post this. I lost my dear sweet precious mom to cancer in April 2007. It devastated me. I am the only girl with 3 older brothers and we were soo close. Cancer just plain sucks. I have the great hope in the Lord though that I will again see her someday. God bless u.
